II.  Reading Russian text

Russifying Windows 95/98 is fairly easy, it should take about 10-15 minutes.  Please not that probably will not be able to fully russify Win 95/98, for example you will still have difficulties working with Russian language applications.

  1. Insert Windows 95/98 CD.  If you get Windows installation screen, close it.

  2. Now go to START- SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL

  3. In Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove Programs

  4. Select Windows Setup and double-click on Multilanguage Support

  5. You will get this window.   Check Cyrillic and hit OK.  Windows will copy needed files from Windows CD-ROM

  6. If you get  "Do you want to restart Windows now?" hit OK.

That's it. Now your computer should be able to read Russian. See if you can understand words below:
